Dance Uniforms

All dancers must be ready and appropriately dressed at least 5 minutes before class. Street shoes, hoop earrings, food and drink including gum chewing are not permitted in class. Long hair must be tied back.

Non-compliance of uniform and conduct standards will result in dismissal from class.

Proper shoes and uniforms are available through the studio office.

For safety reasons, students will not be permitted to participate in any class in stocking feet. Bare feet or proper shoes as per dance discipline are an absolute requirement.

 

 

 

 

 

Ballet-Girls: Black bodysuit, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, hair in bun. Ballet Skirt is optional. R.A.D. examination students may wear their baby blue, navy or burgundy body suits. Skirts are not permitted for exam classes. Young Ballet dancer may wear black, pink, blue or white bodysuits with skirts.

Gymnastic style slippers are not permitted in class

Competitive Students must have a separate pair of Ballet Shoes for Competition and are required to purchase them from the studio office.

Ballet-Boys: White fitted T-Shirt with navy shorts, white shocks, white or black leather ballet shoes. This uniform is also required for R.A.D. examinations with one exception; white ballet shoes are required.

Gymnastic style slippers are not permitted in class

Tap-Girls: Any colour bodysuit and tights. Shorts and dance pants are permitted as long as they are form-fitted. Acceptable tap shoes are shoes with screwed-on London or Teletone Taps. Shoes with nailed or riveted taps are not acceptable.

Level  1 & 2 students require beige Mary Jane style S0352 with Teletone taps and rubber. New and used shoes are available through the studio. These shoes must be purchased through the studio office. Black Patton shoes are not acceptable for class.

Junior and up to Inter/Senior students require black Leo’s Slip-on style 5068 with Teletone taps and rubber. These shoes must be purchased through the studio. Correct fitting must be checked with the Artistic Director, Miss Debbie prior to wearing them.

Tap-Boys: Any colour T-shirt, black dance pants. . Acceptable tap shoes have screwed-on London or Teletone taps. Shoes with nailed or riveted taps are not acceptable. All male students are required to have Leo’s slip on style 5068 with Teletone taps and rubber. These shoes must be purchased through the studio. Jazz-Girls: Any colour body suit and tights, dance shorts or form-fitted dance pants and jazz boots (Capezio Black Gore Slip On Jazz Boot—Style #CG05), foot undeez, foot thongs or dance paws.

Jazz-Boys: Any colour T-shirt, black shorts or black dance pants, jazz boots, foot undeez or dance paws. Note—Jazz Boots are the same as the girls.

Acro-Boys & Girls: Same clothing as Tap or Jazz. Bare feet.

Musical Theatre-Boys & Girls: Uniform is same as tap and jazz with foot undeez, foot thongs or dance paws.

Hip-Hop-Boys & Girls-Comfortable loose fitting clothing and regular running shoes. Please have a separate pair of running shoes used only for dance and not worn outside. Shoes previously worn outside will not be permitted.

BAJ-Girls: Black, blue or pink bodysuit, with pink or black convertible tights and pink leather ballet shoes. Bare feet for acro and jazz portions of the class.

BAJ-Boys: White T-shirt, black shorts or dance pants with black leather ballet shoes. Bare feet for acro and jazz portions of the class.

Intro To Music, Song & Dance: Girls—Any colour body suit and tights, dance shorts or form-fitted dance pants. Boys—White T-shirt, black shorts or dance pants.

Shoes—Jazz boots (Capezio Black Gore Slip On Jazz Boot—Style #CG05), foot undeez, foot thongs or dance paws.

Stretch and Technique-Boys & Girls: Same uniform as Tap, Jazz and Acro. Bare feet are required however shoes may be used for turns and line work. Check with the teacher.
